FORM TWO ISESE PRE NATIONAL EXAMINATION 2024
The Pre-National Examination (often called Pre-Nationals or Mock Nationals) is a practice or trial examination conducted in some educational systems (particularly in some African countries like Tanzania,Kenya, and Uganda) to prepare students for the official National Examination.
Purpose of Pre-National Exams:
-
Assessment of Readiness – Helps students gauge their preparedness for the actual national exams.
-
Identifying Weaknesses – Allows teachers and students to identify areas that need improvement.
-
Familiarization – Gives students a feel of the exam format, timing, and pressure similar to the real national tests.
-
Performance Prediction – Schools use results to predict how students might perform in the actual exams.
Examples:
-
In Tanzania, students may take Pre-NECTA (before the National Examinations Council of Tanzania exams such as FTNA or CSEE).
- In Kenya, students take Pre-KCSE (before the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education).
-
In Uganda, some schools conduct Pre-UCE or Pre-UACE mocks before the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
These exams are usually administered by schools or regional education bodies and are not mandatory but highly recommended for exam preparation.
